Now on Women's Outdoor News

There have been some big changes around here in the last few months.

1. I am pregnant (!!!!!) and the baby is healthy! If you catch this in time, my husband and I are doing a live video with an archery trick shot to reveal the gender of Ginger Baby, as I am affectionately calling this bean. We'll be live on Saturday Feb. 18 at 2:30pm Eastern over at my Facebook Page (click the link here or at the top of the page where it has the "f" icon). If you miss it, I'll add the link to this post after.

That is more than enough to set up my air rifle target and practice 10m international air rifle in the comfort of my own home! That will start sometime after July, when I am no longer experiencing this side effect of pregnancy where my abdomen keeps getting bigger and rounder (and therefore I don't fit into my shooting suit). ;)

I am now getting to pursue even more of the things that I love through teaching handgun safety and basics at Pinnacle Academy in Newport, New Hampshire AND through writing a column about the shooting sports at Women's Outdoor News! This month at the WON, I wrote about why archery is amazing and how to get started. Check out that article here

With a bow, some arrows and proper technique, you’ll be able to experience the beauty of the outdoors, the thrill of an ethical harvest, and the excitement that comes with seeing your hard work pay off in the form of well-placed shots on target. Plus, the discipline of a shooting sport trains your brain in ways that benefit you at work and school. Of all the activities that get you outside and shooting things, how is archery the perfect sport for the outdoorsy, healthy-lifestyle-living, hard-working person to seek out? Let me count the ways…

Thanks for following along with me on this adventure! I am so excited to be able to do what I love, and to share that with a wider audience through this blog and The WON.  I can't wait to pass on my excitement and love of the shooting sports with this baby.
